Symptoms of Dyslexia
Preschool

  At this stage, children are developing the underlying oral language base necessary for learning to read.   

What our clients have been told:
"They're a late bloomer"
"Read to them more at home"
"Have you had their eyes and ears checked?"
"Lets wait and see what happens near year"

What you should look for:

  • Was a late talker or still doesn't speak

  • Displays speech articulation issues

  • Struggles to blend words with two or three sounds together get a real word. (blend /m/ + /e/ to get 'me', blend /d/ + /o/ + /g/ to get 'dog.)

  • Difficulty expressing ideas correctly

  • Difficulty recognizing and producing rhymes

  • Difficulty remembering rote information, such as letter names and number names

  • Difficulty learning the alphabet sequence (without singing it)
