you
should look for:

a late talker or still doesn't speak

Displays
speech articulation issues

Struggles
to blend words with two or three sounds together get a real word.
(blend /m/ + /e/ to get 'me', blend /d/ + /o/ + /g/ to get 'dog.)

Difficulty
expressing ideas correctly

Difficulty
recognizing and producing rhymes

remembering rote information, such as letter names and number names

learning the alphabet sequence (without singing it)
