Symptoms

Difficulty
quickly converting the concept of numbers to their concrete
representation. (i.e., the written number 4 equates to 4 actual
things).
The need to tap
or count out numbers on one's figures.

Difficulty
memorizing math tables

Difficulty
counting or skip counting in sequence

Difficulty with
basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division concepts,
often needing to rely on alternative methods to solution problems
(counting on fingers, drawing diagrams, etc.)
- Difficulty
telling time
- Difficulty with
remembering rules of a game (cards, sports, etc.)
Note that
like other learning difficulties such as AD/HD and Dyslexia, Dyscalculia
exists despite the fact that someone has an adequate intellectual capacity
and has had appropriate schooling.
