Dyscalculia Dyscalculia
is a condition that affects a persons ability to grasp or become fluent in
fundamental mathematical concepts. This condition is increasingly being
identified, but is still considered rare - especially when it exists on
its own.
Currently
there are no standardized tests designed to clinically diagnose
Dyscalculia.
Dyscalculia can be addressed, however, using kinesthetic and multi-sensory
techniques. The use of visual manipulatives is essential in
making conceptual breakthroughs. However, the degree of improvement is
largely dependant upon the severity of the condition.
