1-on-1 Programs
for children, ages 5+, and adults
with chronic difficulties in Reading, Writing, Mathematics, Memory and Attention.

On average, our students advance at 2 to 3 times the rate of their previous tutoring/special education growth rates.

DIA, with is a family-owned, non-franchise business, offers a  full service solution for clients ages 5 to adult that struggle with pre-reading, reading, writing, mathematics, or executive function skills such memory, attention/concentration, visual perception, visual-motor integration.

Our 1-on-1 programs have been proven to be two to three times more effective than traditional tutoring/special education methods for individuals whose difficulties are caused by Dyslexia, ADD/ADHD or Working Memory Dysfunction.

Our reading programs even significantly outpace progress seen in commonly used, phonics-only programs because DIA:

We train and involve the parents (spouses) to ensure appropriate exposure requires to build fluency and retention.
We employs only highly trained literacy specialists holding a minimum of a Masters Degree in literacy or special education.
Client sessions are always performed 1-on-1 with the same assigned DIA specialist.
We specifically address Executive function difficulties through specific intervention therapies.

We can advocate for our clients at school (or at work) to help them get the accommodations they need based on the American With Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the Americas with Disabilities Act (ADA).

We are very pleased with the program. [Our son] has been coming for 8 months and he has made tremendous progress. He really feels good about learning to read. DIA is the only thing that has been effective. - Leigh from Newington, CT
[Our daughter] came struggling with reading and spelling. She has been here just a month and she has become a more careful speller, more focused when writing and more confident overall with school work. - Ann from East Haven, CT
My daughter has gone from not reading books to being able to read a Dr. Seuss book. Her progress in reading is a direct affect of the DIA [program]." - Lori from West Hartford, CT

My daughter's reading and spelling skills have improved since she began therapy. She has more confidence in herself. She was been more successful in school this year as well. I am extremely pleased with the therapy she has received at DIA." - Judy from Glastonbury, CT

I have a ten year old son with dyslexia. I have seen progress in his reading, spelling and writing. In general, I believe he is experiencing a "sense of relief" to be getting academic assistance here. He understands his disability better and can experience "success" within this program. After a few weeks  of therapy his teacher noted a change in him at school. Also his standardized test scores improved 55% this year. Lisa from Bristol, CT
We are very pleased with Pauline's rapport with [our son]. He seems to enjoy working with her and never complains about coming to therapy. The biggest difference we've noticed is his willingness to read everyday print, such as, signs, cereal boxes, game cards, etc. He very rarely did that before.
Heather from Hebron, CT
Our teenage daughter is a client who was diagnosed by DIA with dyslexia after many years of struggling academically. Her spelling has clearly improved, and very importantly, teachers and other school staff through DIA and their own testing now recognize the foundation of her struggles and are making appropriate accommodations. JoAnn from Hebron, CT
Extremely professional and supportive group of instructors who care about my son. Susan takes a lot of extra time in making sure [his] program is successful. She was also an active member at PPTs. Michael from Wethersfield, CT

We have not been a part of Dyslexia Institutes very long. So Far it has been a supportive and helpful experience for our son. Diane from New Preston, CT
